Psalms of Comfort 13: Who Are You Going to Trust?
Again we are in psalm 65. Do you trust the UK government or do you trust the Scottish government? Will you trust Boris who says return to work today or do you trust Nicola who says ‘not yet, stay at home’?
We continually make assessments on who we trust and try to come up with the right decision in our own minds. So it is with politics, the primary deciding factor will normally be—who do you trust.
If that person or party has shown themselves to be trustworthy we follow them. It is hard sometimes to discern what is trustworthy; to wade through the political spin and the unanswered questions and hindsight is not something we can use in deciding where to place our trust. So we are sitting in a barrel of uncertainty and if we stay there we will simply drown in it. You can understand why a faithless people flap about like hens with a fox in the chicken coop.
Where do you place your faith? Who do you trust? Listen to the words of psalm 65 and decide if David’s God is worth trusting.
